An ultrasound scan is a medical test that uses high-frequency sound waves to capture live images from the inside of your body. It’s also known as sonography. It is used to see internal body structures such as tendons, muscles, joints, vessels and internal organs.

 

Pre-requisites- You are required to lie down on a table next  to the display monitor and the doctor conducts the test by applying gel on the target organ area and placing the USG probe over it. In cases of TVS, the probe in inserted internally. Patient might be required to fast or drink 2-3 glasses of water for a set of hours before the USG is conducted, as directed by the physician
